Alexis Wineman

Alexis Wineman

Going on to the Miss America contest, at 18, she was chosen “America’s Choice” candidate, perhaps because she is the first person in the history of the Miss American contest to have autism or, perhaps, because of her  platform titled “Normal is a Drier Setting.  A Life of Autism,”  which allowed her to  tell her compelling story as well as provide insight and understanding of what it’s like to live with autism.

Alexis Wineman was the cover story for the Feb-April 2016 issue of the Autism Asperger's Digest.  To read more on her life: click here to get the cover story FREE.  Her new book, Autism Doesn’t Define Me, is due out in Spring of 2017.
